This is the one with the 50 inch long crossbars, but we offer a kit here at etrailer with a 60 inch long crossbar. But the beauty of these Yakima bars is that they have a continuous channel on the underside. So in theory, you could get an even longer bar if you wanted. I don't know that I would. more

Today, we're gonna be taking a look at, and later, we'll be showing you how to install this Inno Roof Rack system for raised rails on our 2023 Volkswagen Tiguan. It's important to note that this is for raised rails, which is great, because that's what your Tiguan comes with. And if you're looking to expand the function of your vehicle, the best place to go in my opinion, in this case at least, is the roof, because you already have these raised rails, why not utilize them This is gonna be the easiest way to attach a roof rack for any car out there. Any car with raised rails, I always recommend a roof rack, because it's so easy to install and it's just a lot less complicated than other kits like I've used on my own vehicles in the past. Hey everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer and today I have a Yakima roof rack system with the 50 inch long bars and the TimberLine towers. We'll take a look at how it fits our 2022 Volkswagen Taos. So your Volkswagen Taos has a raised rail meaning there's a rail that goes up but you can also fit things underneath it. Now because of how small it is, this actually doesn't fit perfectly for all roof rack brands. So some roof racks need a special clamp that's smaller in order to securely fit around this rail system. But since the Yakima TimberLine towers have a strap that go around, then you don't have that issue. more

Hey everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer and today we're taking a look at our Rhino-Rack roof rack system here on our 2021 Volkswagen Jetta. This system has the 49 inch long vortex aero crossbars, the towers for naked roofs and the custom fit kit for your Volkswagen Jetta. You can get longer crossbars of up to 54 inches if you want more overhang, but the downside to too much overhang is you're more likely to hit your head against the crossbar getting into the car. So that is something to consider. This is a very good balance between the two where you still have crossbar length but you don't have too much. So if you wanna carry around some fun accessories on your Jetta, maybe you wanna carry around some kayaks or a roof box. more

Now it is gonna be aluminum, and it's gonna be very lightweight. Yakima Roof Rack Review - 2013 Volkswagen Jetta- Video
Adam: What's going on, everybody Adam here with etrailer. Today, we're going to be taking a look at the Yakima Roof Rack System on our 2013 Volkswagen Jetta.What we're using here is the Yakima core bar roof rack bars, and these aren't going to have T-tracks, so if you do plan on putting some accessories up here, make sure they are going to be able to wrap around these bars. So let's go ahead and do some measurements.From the start of our roof to the bottom of the bar, it's going to be about 3-5/8". And then from the roof to the top, it's going to be about 4-1/2". We checked and the sunroof will open up, so you don't have to worry about losing functionality on that end. The bars are going to be made of steel and they will have a nice powder-coated finish to them, so it's going to look good and it's not going to rust away over time. more

Yakima Landing Pad 6 Installation - 1984 Volkswagen Vanagon- Video
Andy: Hello everyone, Andy here with etrailer.com. Today we're taking a look at the installation of our Landing Pad 6 on a Volkswagen Vanagon. Looking at our Landing Pad 6 installed now, we have them paired with the SkyLine Towers. If you needed to remove the lock and load tray here, or let's say we had some bars that are mounted to the top of our camper shell, or on top of our van as seen here, we can just go ahead and push down on the pressure on each side of the tower here. That is what will allow you to move, and install, and re-install your tray or your bars that you have mounted on the top. If you actually aren't using your lock and load tray and you want a cleaner, simpler look with your Leap Pad 6, there are the included covers, and we can just snap that in place, and it gives us a nice fit and finish.As for the installation on this, it did seem like at first it was going to be a pretty intensive task, but I found that it really overall wasn't that bad. more

Yakima Roof Rack Installation - 2019 Volkswagen Tiguan- Video
Collin: Hey guys, Collin here at Etrailer and today we have a 2019 Volkswagen Tiguan and we've been testing some roof racks on it. Right now we've got the Yakima JetStream roof rack system installed. Now this is going to install onto the raised side rails of your Tiguan, gives you an option to be able to load up some rooftop accessories, to help make more space inside your vehicle. Now you can get a cargo box up there that'll just be a lot lighter, to get some luggage, other cargo, up into the enclosed box so that you can make more space like I said, inside the vehicle for more arm and a leg room. You can throw a couple of bike racks up there that way you don't have to get a hitch or a hitch mounted bike rack, you don't have to worry about getting those dirty bikes inside your car. Maybe even just a couple of kayak carriers so you can go to and from the water with your kayaks because we obviously know that one kayak's probably not going to fit in your Tiguan.This roof rack is made up of two different parts. more

Hey everyone, Colin here at etrailer, today we have a 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan, and we're going to do a test fit of the Thule wingbar Evo roof rack system. Now this roof rack system was designed to mount to the raised side rails of your Volkswagen Tiguan. It's going to allow you to get your favorite rooftop accessories loaded up, whether you've got a cargo box, a bike rack, or even a kayak carrier. Up top, we have our wingbar Evo crossbars, these are going to be 53" long, it's going to be a lot of storage space on top of your roof. We're also going to have a little bit of overhang on each side, so if you wanted to get a smaller accessory, like a bike rack loaded on the outside, you have that option as well.It's going to have a nice aerodynamic shape to it, that's going to help cut down on wind noise and drag, especially when compared to your standard square or round bar roof rack system. What's nice is that the cap just flips up like that to access the T-Trek, we don't have to pull the end cap all the way off, we just flip over that little part. more

Thule SquareBar Crossbars Installation - 2014 Volkswagen Passat- Video
Today, on our 2014 Volkswagen Passat, we're going to be testing the Thule SquareBar Roof Rack System. This roof rack system is going to be a great accessory for your Passat. It's going to allow you to haul a ton of different roof rack accessories above your vehicle, whether if it's got bike racks, kayak carriers, or even a cargo box, really anything that can fit, you're going to be able to haul it on this roof rack.This roof rack has three different components to it. Our first one is going to be our 53-inch square bars. These square bars kind of give you the traditional roof rack look, it's kind of how roof racks first started. One thing I want to point out is that with a square bar system, you are going to have a bit more wind noise and drag when you compare it to the wing bar setup that Thule has, but one thing you can do to improve your fuel economy and cut down on that wind noise, is you're going to install a faring on the front crossbar, and that's basically going to deflect the wind and just make it run right over the top of your roof rack system.The middle man right here that's connecting our crossbars to our roof is going to be the Evo clamp feet system. more

SeaSucker Roof Rack Review - 2014 Volkswagen Passat- Video
Today we have a 2014 Volkswagen Passat and we're going to be doing a test fit on the Seasucker Monkey Bar Roof Rack System, which is part number 298-XX6000.Now this roof rack system has a unique way of attaching to your roof. It doesn't use the traditional clamp system where it comes under our door frame, it doesn't even use six mounting points. It uses these vacuum cups to suction down onto your roof.Now, some people are pretty wary of this system because some people think, "How is that going to stay on the roof" Well, right here I'm going to grab a hold of it and I'm gonna start shaking and you can see that the entire car is shaking, so there's no way those are coming off. If you have a big load on top, this plastic piece right here is more likely to break than these suction cups are to be removed from the roof.It's a very easy installation process. First, we're just going to remove these caps right here. Now this is the rear bar. more

Rhino Rack Roof Rack Review - 2017 Volkswagen Jetta- Video
Speaker 1: Today on our 2017 Volkswagen Jetta, we're going to be test fitting the Rhino-Rack Roof Rack System consisting of part number RRRS330B, and this is going to be both arms and the fit kit itself all packaged together.The Rhino-Rack Roof Rack System is great for carrying a wide variety of accessories on your Volkswagen Jetta and freeing up space inside your car as well. This can carry anything from bike racks to cargo baskets to some smaller cargo boxes. The bars have an elliptical shape to them, and that coupled with the Vortex Aero strip up at the top will minimize wind noise and drag while you're driving, making your drive a little bit quieter as opposed to the square or round bars, which can produce a little more noise.This simply clamps to the existing door frame on your vehicle, and an added bonus to this particular system is it comes with everything included. You don't have to buy separate kits or separate part numbers. While it has a locking end cap, it also helps protect your T-track accessories as well once they're installed. What you would do is you would move the Vortex Aero strip, cut it to length, place your T-track accessory in and then replace the Vortex Aero strip around it. more
